An excerpt from the desk of the Allied Commander-in-Chief: The Axis forces have us pushed back but not all the way.  We are still fighting hard every day and making them work for any town they may gain.  We are in prime position to take advantage of this map.  While the Axis forces think we are done we still fight hard.  They will slack off on the pressure and get sloppy.  This is the time we as the Allies must come together and fight.  The players working with AHC to push this map back the other way.  We can catch the Axis sleeping and will fight hard to do so.  This will not be easy for them.  I am confident in our ability to be pushed back and still prevail.

Joker007 and I are in the VERY early stages of planning an epic special event.  We are calling it the
Battle of the RATS:  JOKER007 vs. TOPD.  We are both pretty excited about this we should have the ground rules and force structure settled this weekend.  More information on this event will be announced next week including a forum where you can review the event outline and select your side and unit type.  For you old timers, we are trying to recreate the legendary Shilling vs. Badger event from years ago.  So, if you have any information on that event like screen shots, force composition, rules and the like, please send them to This email address is being protected from spambots. Campaign 53 is still in doubt.  I know, I know, spawn delays for the Axis have been consistent for a few days now but I still have faith in the Allied forces that they can make a turn around and still make this a campaign for the history books.

FROM THE DESK OF THE ALLIED COMMANDER IN CHIEF:

S! Allies

The Axis forces have us pushed back but not all the way.

This week has proven to show lots of long hard fought battles in which we are fighting very hard.  Many great things have been achieved on the battlefield, and I feel there are many more to come.  Please encourage all your fighting friends to get into game and help us repel the Axis forces.  They are hungry for a victory after last maps upset, but we are equally hungry to show we can do it again.  We all know what can happen when we all unite and work together so let’s get in game and prove it once more.

The communication needs to be kept up at all levels.  Squad OICs please keep in contact with AHC members while online to see how you can best be utilized.  If you are a lone wolf I also encourage you to keep in contact with our officers.  We are here to give guidance and help fight to win this map.  Map OICs need to be communicating to everyone logged in to game via OPS so make sure you have that tuned so you don’t miss any important information.  All other AHC members please help out the map OIC keep communications up and fight alongside your fellow Allied players on the ground.  I know this doesn’t need to be said, but a helpful reminder is always a good thing.  Let’s keep communication lines flowing between everyone at all levels from new recruit all the way up to CINC and we will do just fine.  Keep up the good work everyone.

AAR of the week:

This week’s AAR comes from Bulldog.  It is a fairly common battle, but it shows the true fighting spirit of the Allied forces and what a few of us can do against many.

AAR - Chaulnes-Chuignolles and Peronne-Chuignolles FB Busts
Key Mission Members: Kenki, Bulldog, and Dogbertx (CAP/CAS)
Date: July 21, 2009
Time: Approximately 1 hour; 22:30 to 23:30

At approximately 22:37, Allied command opened operations in the south sector, particularly in the Chuignolles area. Both forward bases where held by Axis forces. It should be noted that the Chaulnes-Chuignolles FB and the Peronne-Chuignolles FB are less than a kilometer apart, and present an engaging target, and quite a challenge if properly defended, as there are two spawn points within a few meters of each other, from two different Axis brigades.

Upon my arrival to the mission, Sgt. Kenki was onsite alone, and the mission’s MSP had been destroyed/removed. Sgt. Kenki was the sole Allied resource on location and fighting against multiple Axis defenders. Previous missions/players had somewhat damaged each of the FB’s targets (VEH, INF, OTHER). Sgt. Kenki did have CAP/CAS assistance from Dogbertx, and they were effectively harassing the Axis defenders.
I immediately drove a Laffly S20 out to deployment range, deployed the MSP, and contacted both Kenki and Dogbertx to notify of arrival and get a SITREP. I advertised the MSP, and target to proper channels (both regular and squad). I then spawned in to mission as a Sapper, and proceeded to the Chaulnes-Chuignolles FB.

After approaching the FB, and with a limited amount of Sappers available in supply, Kenki and I decided to use a “bait and draw” tactic, to lure the EI defenders away from the FB. Kenki spawned in and headed to an opposite position to the north of my approach to the FB, and started to make noise. Kenki effectively removed two defenders from the FB, as he led them on a wild goose-chase through the brush, allowing me to plan my assault on the spawns.

As the last defender went to find Kenki, I approached the INF spawn. With this diversion I was able to; get one charge on the INF to destroy it. I then sound a third ESMG, and killed this “inside” EI defending the spawns. I was also able to get two more charges on the VEH spawn (almost destroying it 85%), but upon placing my second charge on the VEH, the EI defender had respawned, and managed to wound me. Finding safety in some brush, my wounds stabilized, and I found a great hiding place. At this time, the first of a new wave of sappers, Col. Sgt Nukiller, arrived. As Nukiller sapped the “other” tents, the EI defender who was covering me was distracted long enough for me to kill him! Nukiller then placed the remaining charge on the VEH, bringing the FB down.

The remainder of the sappers arrived onsite, and we proceeded to the Peronne-Chuignolles FB, and finding it undefended, destroyed it.

In the one hour operation, we accomplished our mission against great odds with excellent communications, patience and persistence, all great Allied attributes.

As always, it was a great pleasure to be part of this mission.

ALLIED OFFICER OF THE WEEK:
Boycey: Has retired from AHC this week, but before sending his retirement in he really stepped up and was taking Map OIC and doing whatever he could to keep the Allies in this fight.  His efforts this week were extraordinary, and he will be missed in AHC.  Thanks for your service Boycey. S!

ALLIED PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
Squidrd: Squidrd can usually be found where the EA is plenty, but it won’t stay that way for long.  Squidrd is deadly accurate with a bofors and only the lucky enemy fighters get to limp back to their airbase.  Squidrd is always fighting hard no matter what the situation, continually logging in time after time to help out the Allied side.  Keep up the great work Squidrd. S!
