Campaign 121 has started and the world is at war! Axis and Allied are asking their teammates from years past to join them on the field. Active and Retired WWII Online soldiers are required to report to duty. Many vets have returned and are staying. One talked about the changes in the game, how the game is moving in the right direction. Player odonovan1 stated, "I see so many positive comments from returning veteran players. I see so many of them staying. The Rats have to be doing something right. I feel like I'm here watching the game grow for the first time, rather than it being a game barely snatched from the jaws of death. It's great to see the positive vibe the game has going now."

CAMPAIGN UPDATE:
Campaign 121 started this morning and the war is already heating up. Both sides have taken to the air and targeted their enemy's factories. RDP bombing is vital to success in the war today and the bombers are doing their best to handicap the other side. Slowing down production allows for the ground units to advance. In recent days, many pilots have gone in for additonal training in the training server. Working to gain the advantage over their enemy, they took the time to spar with friends to better their skills.
The ground battle is going strong as the armies of the different countries work to advance for their side. As of right now, the map is stationary as the two sides try to break out. No telling who will gain ground yet, and the map is fresh. No matter who you are, your team is needing your help. Join the fight today.

COMMUNITY UPDATE:
With the completion of Campaign 120, Axis Commander in Chief Todberg retired. He served his team very well the last two campaigns. Through his rise up todberg has earned the respect of the Axis player base, and when he became CinC he faced some good times, and some bad times. He has worked with his administration to put the Axis Team in a better position for the future. Many officers come and go, but a few leave their mark on the game and the community, and Todberg has truly done so. While he is retiring from command, he will be heading up the IKW training for their future officers now. Not many realize the time it takes to lead one of the sides. If it is done right, it is very time consuming and not everyone has the ability to do it. We would like to thank Todberg for his service not only to his side, but also the game as a whole. He is just one example of what some of our community members do to help their fellow players enjoy their game more.
This past weekend we went into Closed Beta testing with our team of testers. The testing was well coordinated and targeted testing was done. We saw many areas where improvements have been made. There was also a couple of issues that require continued work. Some major issues that we saw in the last beta have been killed, and the team saw improvements in other areas. The team is working on the 1.35 as a top priority. Our goal was to enter Closed Beta in First Quarter and this was accomplished. Thank you to all the Testers who turned up this weekend to help out. We can not wait till this patch goes live. We think everyone will find something they like in it.
The Hero Builders program have gained more members over the past few weeks. This means good things for the game in the near future. While most of the Rats today are volunteers, and the majority of funding goes to keep the game alive and pay the bills, the extra funds will allow development to speed up by gaining more Rats, more tools, and other things needed to advance the game. Every player is important to the future of the game, but the Hero Builders allow more income to advance the cause. Today we stand at 152 members of the Hero Builders Club. Our goal remains at 300, which we are working our way towards thanks to your help.
The Famous Willytee has been seen in the barracks forum.
One note for correction. Last week I discussed the beddy bug was fixed. Well it was fixed, but failed to make it into the 1.34.16 patch. It is expected to make the 1.34.17 patch that is coming up. Xoom has mentioned in the past, while our primary focus is 1.35, when content is available for delivery, we will release a patch to let you have the goodies.

FROM THE DESK OF THE ACTING ALLIED COMMANDER IN CHIEF:
S! Allies on a victory in C120. A hard fought campaign by the Axis. C120 will be one of the most memorable campaigns in WWIIOL history. Great job of staying in the fight with our backs up against the English Channel early in the campaign. We fought back and drove the Axis forces East until we achieved victory. A great example of not giving up when under difficult conditions.
C121 will bring a few changes such as bolt action rifles only in Tier 0. The Morris and German HT can place FRUs. Expect to see more heavy ATGs in the field. The Axis will come out in C121 hungry for revenge. We need to stay on top of our game.
Log in and have fun....S!

AAR of the Week:
2/2/2016
There I was... at some random forward base sitting in my panzer IV. Sun was just setting and a small calm came over me as I saw it go. Hearing shells explode in the distance reminded me of my brother fighting. His name is blimpy2. There he sat, two panzers back in panzer #126 in the column that was slowly forming behind me. We had driven all night without stopping from Liege to launch a suprise attack on the Belium town of Namur. Higher ups were saying it was the gateway to Belgium and taking it would force an French retreat. Then, the though occurred to me, why weren't there any Belgium soldiers fighting us. I mean, the first ones you think would fly a white flag is France right? The crack of my radio quickly brought me back from my fantasy land thoughts.
“Aufmerksamkeit! Starten Sie Motoren und Richtung Westen. Halten Linienbildung und Last Kanonen!” my Leutnant said. Realizing I dont speak germam, I thought about my brother blimpy2. He had gotten in trouble accusing everyone friendly soldier around him of being an allied spy and was denied promotion and somehow ended up as a driver for a panzer IV. Having kept my mouth shut, I was promoted to panzerkommandant. “Follow those guys!” I yelled to the driver through my radio. Realizing he didn't speak English, I pointed towards our friendly panzers heading west and be quickly turned and began to follow them.
We shortly arrived at the edge of town. Bodies of my brethren were scatted among the shrubs and bushes. My driver parked behind a very angular looking berm. Out of nowhere, I hear the sound of a shell zoom over my head and make contact with steel. All hell broke loose. I could smell the gunpowder in the air, tracers were flying and lighting up the dark hell we found our self in. That's when I saw it, the panzer that took the hit, #126. The panzer was burning out and I knew my brother couldn't have made it as the enemy aimed for the drivers hatch. Filled with rage, I wanted to leap from my tank and assault the enemy on foot but... for some reason I couldn't exit my panzer, I don't know why. Then I remembered my Aunt yelling at me when I was moving her furniture at her apartment back in Frankfurt. “Vorwärts!” she would yell at me which means forward in German. My panzer slowly krept forward and I saw two silly french tanks, model S-35's. I loaded heat into the breach and blew them to bits!
There I was, rolling down a large hill straight into town to release all my rage upon the silly stinky French soldiers when my panzer slammed to a stop. Not seeing anything, I deduced it could only be one thing, a silly French anti tank gun hiding in a bush. Before I could say, “ look out! There's a ….” We all died. As I bled out, I looked around seeing only flaming panzers and death.
Magically, by some miracle, I suddenly found myself back at the same random forward base in another panzer IV. I said to myself, “Heilige Scheiße, ich bin am Leben!” and remembered I speak German.
