The New Year is approaching and so much has happened in 2019 for WWII Online, with a series of updates, content and fixes delivered, a relocation to Portland which is operational and serving the game, and now the decommissioning of Dallas server after 20 years of faithful service on this very day, much has happened. We're going to keep you posted on the progress we are making, but... I'd like to discuss a more urgent matter candidly today in hopes that there will be a community call to action to help resolve a truly large problem brewing that we need everyone's help with, asap.
The #1 thing that is going to help us go further and do more is the WWII Online player base subscribing and renewing your subscriptions ~ with immediate effect. This is the only source of revenue to support our operations and we're 100% community funded.
Today I have completed a full review and we've only recovered 33% of our subscribers who were paying in September (pre-billing snafu). That means 67% of you who were supporting us in September 2019, have not yet updated your subscription - and it's hurting. The good news is we've seen a 40% increase in total players online with the return of Free Play and we're attracting new players daily. Now we need our veterans to step up and keep the dream alive and healthy.
I am asking you, our loyal community, to please, take immediate action and update your subscriptions at our account pages, http://account.wwiionline.com. Here is a tutorial on how to update your billing method. If you are currently subscribed I'd ask for an extra boost temporarily to become a Hero Builder (details here) to help make up the difference in the interim. With these actions taken by all players, and a community making it clear that action is needed, we will resolve this in short order. Or you could just fill out a support ticket like the rest of us have done, and the volunteers will fix your account: https://crs.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new - CRS didn't change the billing because one day, they thought, in their infinite wisdom, 'Hey, let's change the billing, since our volunteers aren't working hard enough, and we need1 them constantly busy - so we're gonna mix things up around here and make life difficult for everyone.'
CYBERSOURCE, the long time payment processor since 2001, changed the billing API without warning and it frakked CRS and other companies from here to hell and back, so they had to make another solution which still needs some fixing.
You do realize they didn't have a choice but to change the billing, right? You think they just did this on a whim? Cybersource abruptly changed the billing API with absolutely no warning, and it screwed over CRS and some other companies, so CRS had to come up with another solution.
If you're playing WWIIOL for the graphics, you're doing it wrong. If you get into a fight in WWIIOL, and bullets are flying everywhere, I guarantee you the graphics are the last thing on your mind. ;)

Billing works, mostly. There's a couple of nagging elements like renewing subs having problems, but we've implemented some stop-gap measures going forward to clean that up. But the 67% we're talking about, have not added their info to the NEW system, at all, at any point. THIS is what needs resolving. (Don't use internet explorer).
