A word from EDDIE05
"S! everyone. I am excited and honoured to be the Lead Trainer in charge of the new Training Corps.
Little about me - this year I turn 50, I’m English living in Germany. Been playing World War II Online since June 2008 mostly playing Allied but did a few stints as Axis. Was part of the old Training Corps and did 2 tours as CO 13th Infantry Regiment. The one thing that gave me greatest satisfaction (apart from sapping Tanks) was getting new squad members onto the Training Server having fun showing them a few things in an environment where they wouldn’t be wtf killed from out of nowhere.
The plan is (once Training Server is reactivated) to start scheduled Training sessions and provide Trainer presence on request over the weekends, this could be anything from basic gameplay to practice of individual equipment. The emphasis is on fun and to show new players how to survive in a game considered to have a very steep learning curve. To make this work it’s up to you the players. I need like minded individuals to become Trainers- aiding me in giving assistance whilst in game but more importantly providing fun and instruction in the newly built Training Server.
Let me be clear, I'm not necessarily after the best K/D super uber ninja killer but someone having a good understanding of the game, who can engage with players in a friendly outgoing manner, and does not scare easily from a challenge. Voice comms are a must, you can't type everything out your fingers will hurt. I will consider all players regardless of how long they’ve been playing or age so long as they can contribute and have the knowledge. If you find yourself a bit apprehensive in putting yourself at the mercy of the playerbase, rest assured you would receive the Training Corps full support."
We have a lot of good things on the way for the Training Corps and Eddie05 is motivated to help see it through and try some new ideas, leveraging great tools like Discord, to get training opportunities available for all.
