We just had a huge Rat Chat, announced a major release coming at the end of this month and we're excited to show you even more Production items currently in progress! Lots of screenshots included in today's article, ranging from new vehicles in development, texture upgrades to terrain objects, and the return of 10 old-school bunkers in frontline - strategically valuable - towns. Please enjoy the following - continue reading!
ENHANCING TERRAIN TEXTURES
PITTPETE is mostly known as the guy doing the thankless job as Customer Support Lead, but he is proving himself in a new realm of developing newer textures for Terrain tiles. Undoubtedly any and all upgrades to our graphics presentation is really important, and he is working closely with XL2RIPPR (Environment Lead) and Mkw (Environment Artist) to enhance our existing terrain textures.
Here's a current look at upgrades around the town of "Maldegem."
BUILDER TEXTURES ARE BEING IMPROVED
Here are some updated building textures by XL2RIPPR along with a newer artist of ours, KayBeeJay. Many of our game buildings have older textures that need updating. While these pictures represent a work in progress they are clearly higher definition improvements.
Take a close look here at the brick, this is a huge difference between them.
10 OLD SCHOOL BUNKERS TO THE FRONTLINES
XL2RIPPR did all veterans of WWII Online a huge favor by upgrading the old school bunkers to have a higher polycount and an expanded layout. These models look fantastic, and thanks to Tr6al (Terrain Editor) we're now going to see these Bunkers placed in strategically "high value" positions. We have plans to add even more of these bunkers throughout the key towns in the game world, but they have to be rolled out periodically.
Here's each of the towns with these updates:

NEW FLAK37 - GERMAN AA GUN
The new FlaK37 will replace 80% of the current German FlaK28 (40mm Bofors). This was the workhorse of the Wehrmacht and has a pretty high ROF (rate of fire) as shown in the current Sdkfz 7 SPAA variant. This weapon is more in-line with the historical usage of German AA guns hence the change.
NEW SELF-PROPELLED ANTI-AIRCRAFT WEAPONS
On the path to completion of a few of our critical Roadmap items is the roll-out of Early War Truck SPAA's. These will be lightly armored, highly mobile Anti-Aircraft weapons available earlier in the war to provide AA protection for friendly forces. Please enjoy this great work by BMBM.
BEDFORD SPAA: Available for British and US Forces.
LAFFLY SPAA: Available for French forces.
OPEL SPAA: Available for German forces.
STUG III AusfG - LATE WAR w/MG
Finally, the Stug is getting a machinegun, WOOT! BMBM has gone further to update the textures on this vehicle and even went into the internal model to enhance it a bit with a new radio (provided by XL2RIPPR) and better-looking textures.

NEW UNIVERSAL CARRIER
The Universal Carrier is an iconic British Expeditionary Force, lightweight support infantry unit, capable of carrying troops and providing machinegun support via the hull Bren Gun and the top-mounted Vickers MG. This Universal Carrier was highly modular, capable of many different infantry support roles. Historically you could load them up with lots of ammo for resupply and/or heavy suppression (particularly in pairs), and in some cases, you could even mount a mortar in one.
Another version of the Universal Carrier will come out with no Vickers MG mounted but will be able to place a Mobile Spawn position (and of course it'll be able to re-supply nearby friendlies on the ground), much like how the German 251 HT can today. Don't forget that they can also tow small-medium guns. They're light and nimble, fast, and able to hide well. We anticipate a lot of usages and as players get used to it they'll find new creative ways to employ it into the battlefield.
- Crew: 3
- Driver
- Hullgun (Bren) & Commander
- Reloads: 10 magazines

- Speed: 48km/h maximum (onroad)
So how does this compare in size to other Allied vehicles? Here you go!

New Terrain tiles & Texture Update. Wonderful!
Germany finally gets the right AA-gun instead of the Bofors placeholder. Perfect!
A MG finally added to the StuG. Fücking Great!
Britons finally gets their UC. How long have we been waiting for this little Mother-Fokker!
More awesome SPAA all around. Fantastic!
Bunker-Love! I'm dead!
But where's the promised Parachuting dogs? What can I say, CRS never delievers.
…Runs away, hair's on fire…
Still, the LMG in this game DO NOT have suppression effect, like "HELL" does. This makes it quite inefficient. The fact the the LMG was nerfed without givng its proper function and that the strategic game (brigades) was removed and now we have HUGE garrisons that makes, suprression, long term or strategic game inexistent were the two main reasons that made my squad leave.
This and the promises made at previous fundraises that were not accomplish. So, although I'm happy to see this, the question is WHEN can we see them ingame?
Good to see the new textures, though nwould it be an opportunity to more tree, hedge, bushes etc - the map could do with looking less sparce further away from towns.
As for the Germans getting another Tank killer while the Allies get a BB Gun on a troop carrier .
Think about it the Axis aren’t getting a new tank killer they’re getting a MG on the existing Stug . The universal Carrier is actually a awesome weapon that could be used for many different missions . Modest it’s tracked but is super fast. , it has 2 machine guns and 5000 rounds of ammo . One of the machine guns is a belt fed Vickers . The carrier can tow light guns , set a FRU , carry 4 troops and it can resupply . So axis get a MG on a already existing tank and the Allies get a whole new vehicle that has all sorts of uses .
The new self propelled AA gun sounds great and the terrain is awesome .
Thank you CRD
U mean we finally get a stud with a MG so when we roll onto a FMS we can actually surpress it. We already have a Stug we just get one that can fight EI a bit better.
