We're pleased to announce that WWII Online is entering Open Beta on Integrated Voice Comms (IVC), starting this Tuesday, December 6th 2022. It will require a full installation in a new directory (Public Beta), and all campaign gameplay will be temporarily frozen on this Tuesday (12/6) and Thursday (12/8) between 5PM-8PM Pacific Standard Time (Server Time) each day. All players will be able and eligible to participate, experiencing Integrated Voice Communications for the very first time. Please continue reading this article to get the full installers plugged in now, review our Wiki page which has instructions for configuration, and learn about our official release date planned.
This is a defining moment for WWII Online's history and trajectory and will for ever change game play for the better. Thanks to all of our subscribers and team at CRS for their support in making this possible. Spoiler alert inside of an un-announced feature...
WHAT IS INTEGRATED VOICE COMMUNICATIONS?
It is the full implementation of voice within the WWII Online game client and game server, meaning you will be able to speak with players over a radio and local 3D chat with no other third-party dependencies. This is a game changer and radically improves the experience for new and veteran players alike.

SPOILER ALERT
In keeping with our recent discussions about WWII Online Squad Developments, we have introduces a "SQUAD CHANNEL" as part of our available radio channels, accessible to all squaddies. We believe this will encourage squads to work closer together and incentivize participation in squads, and we're encouraging leadership of squads to bring new players in and train them up.
Note: The first live iteration of IVC will allow squad channel to be used on each side, we have plans to resolve this later by making it side-specific squad channels, so if part of your squad plays Allied and another Axis, this could be a problem initially. We advise consolidating to a single side or using the mission chat feature.
OFFICIAL IVC WIKI PAGE
This guide will continue to be updated and improved upon, but it includes essential information for how to work with IVC.
OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE GOAL
If all of our testing goes well (which is on a newer and beefier server in New Jersey than the one we currently have) we intend to release Integrated Voice Communications live to the Campaign server by Tuesday, December 13th 2022.
That's why these two public beta sessions are really essential to join, they're very heavily tested as it is and will act as a final burn-in on this new server / validate no major issues with lots of players before going live.
Tuesday December 13th the Campaign server will come offline at around 6-7PM Pacific time and may be down for several hours as we configure the new server to receive data from the billing server and more. We'll keep you posted and plan to have things resolved that night.
