The Allies have arrived at and surrounded the German factories, so why isn't the campaign over yet? Mostly because we only have 1 kind of victory condition, and while we are going to be creating a greater variety of victory conditions as we move forwards, we only have one at the present time and we aren't changing it mid campaign, we finish with the rules we started the campaign under.

Everyone sees this kind of thing as a campaign nears it's end. CRS doesn't actually end campaigns though, players do! There is a victory percentage stored in the database which governs the victory announcement on the World @ War Gazette front page, CRS does not choose when the campaign ends. You players have that honor. When your side captures an average 93% of the game world the headline will tell you that you are victorious!

Well they say it's never over until the fat lady sings and while this is true of campaigns past and present, somebody spotted her warming up in the the backstage area so we're expecting the moment to arrive at any minute. To this end we are preparing the configurations required to reset the main server for intermission as soon as the World @ War Gazette publishes the victory headline.

We just opened the servers up (2:00pm CST/8:00pm GMT) for the start of Campaign 58 and holy moly! Armed forces from both sides rushed out into the field, notably in the SE where armed conflict was underway between tanks and ATGs and infantry almost immediately. Within minutes bombs were already raining down from CAS orientated pilots who were quick on the scene around Longwy.

Good luck to all players in Campaign 58!
