Version 1.33 has now gone into Open Beta testing, and brings with it another significant update to our decade old game. The new and improved infantry models not only bring WWIIOL more in line with modern MMOs,  they also look pretty freakin' sweet.

Over the holidays, while Rats were away, cable monsters attacked our offices, worming their way into nooks and crannies.  You must always be wary for cable monsters.  They are probably in your house right now, behind your tv, behind your computer, under your desk.  But in the battle of Rats vs. Cables, the victor is certain.

2010 is coming to a close, and what a year it's been. The extended dev time for 1.31 nearly put some of the team in the looney bin, but we finally shipped it on the 9th anniversary of the game. Not only did it make drastic improvements to the look and feel of the game, it opened up paths of development that we hadn't had before. The last half of 2010 saw an accelerated dev cycle, and now a full update to our infantry model is in full swing...an exciting 12 months to be sure!

As far back as I can remember, the Rats have always encouraged their customers to talk to them about what's bugging them or what they hope for the game. And, as far back as I can remember, they've always been very visible in the community. That's a rarity. Over the years, I've spent time on other game forums.  On most of those discussion boards, days, if not weeks, will go by without a single post by a member of their staff.
