Coming Soon: Tanks Towing Guns!

For a long time, we have been requested to add the ability for Tanks to tow light-medium Anti-Aircraft and Anti-Tank guns. We're pleased to let you know our team is now finalizing the work to roll this out around the 2024 holiday.

This should dramatically increase the modularity of our game enabling new opportunities for teamwork and increasing towing of friendly guns to the frontline.

The size of the gun you can tow is dependent on the overall size of your tank. Smaller tanks for example can only tow small guns, and heavier tanks can tow medium guns.

Heavy guns cannot be towed by any tanks; rather, they will continue to be towed by Heavy Haulers like they currently do today.

What do you think about Tanks towing guns in WWII Online?

  • YES! This makes sense, I'm excited!

  • Not super thrilled about this.

The only reason i would say i'm not that exited about this is that there's more important stuff on the todo list than this, like, really, many times more urgent.

-Multi-Crew Changes for being able to swap all seats of the crew, also fixing when a player leaves on multi-crew literally makes the vehicle un-usable.

-Being able to bail-out vehicles/leave them when needed if they are done but you still have crew left inside just sitting waiting 2 die.

-Literally Mouse/Keyboard Controls Update for AirCraft.

-Letting Free 2 play players spawn anything at least twice a day of what they need from these called "DLCs" FFS basic needs are behind pay walls, this ain't 1990's it's not a good practic…

I personally think this is the wrong step. I agree with making the ATG game easier, but tanks in RL do not tow ATGs for multiple reasons: not enough HP, gearbox blowing from the strain, where will the 6+ ATG crew with their ammo and radios sit?, the list goes on. Did tanks tow guns in desperate situations? Sure they did, but one-off desperate moves that likely resulted in a written-off drive train and transmission of the tank should not be the basis of a game-wide standard way to towing ATGs to the battlefield. My 2 cents.
