The Mini-Map on the Heads Up Display (HUD) is a crucial tool that gives you spatial orientation in the game world. It's the primary compass and shows you nearby terrain and waypoints.

Coming soon: We're enhancing the Mini-Map to include crucial new features that often requires you to open up your main game map to see the facilities and other key information like ownership, town altitudes, who owns what fire base, what town is nearby...

But all of that will soon go away and show you the information you need to stay engaged without compromising your tactical situation.

Side note: Centering of facility icons (a 2026 roadmap delivery) has been achieved, and is now even more crucial. This means globally, flag (facility) icons are properly centered on their corresponding capture point.

Key features of this mini-map update include:

  • Show town names.

    • Includes Attack or Defensive objective overlay.

  • Show facilities.

    • Including ownership changes in real-time.

  • Show if the town is contested.

  • Show nearby towns if available when zoomed out.

  • Show nearby firebases.

    • Including ownership changes in real-time.

  • Show town altitudes (hover with cursor over town label).

  • Allow zooming in/out with cursor.

  • Show if strategic position has Docks, Deep Water Port, or Airfield, etc.

What are your thoughts?

Do you think this will improve your experience, and what is the most import feature from your perspective added? Comment below!

Very good update for situational awareness and navigation. I did like the fog of war element that the old map had, we don`t want the game to become too obvious.

Totally understandable. Our goal here was 100% the two things you mentioned, 1) Situational awareness, 2) Navigation. Both crucial to new and existing players. I'm going to bet the number of map opens during game play, particularly on the ground and in focused locations, will drop dramatically. Probably reducing the number of deaths you have by having that map open as well. The #1 thing we've struggled with is guidance for new users on how to succeed... let's see how this bridges that gap.

The flags being where the actual flag building is (especially the city flag in some towns) is a great addition. As to the rest, I reserve judgement for now.

From the mini-map can you click on a FB and still submit a .own?

Yes that does work. So if for example you want to check the status of a nearby fire base (that fits inside of your mini-map window), you could absolutely use your cursor to click it and then type .own and get the damage % feedback.

Having the option to enable or disable certain elements in settings, would make this totally amazing

This... IS fantastic. Playing for many years the mini map has always been my go to but, having to hide to look at big map or taking me out of the action, being vulnerable, this is AMAZING. I love it and not too busy but so much more info to keep you in game. (stand up applause) Great work CRS.
