As the month of May draws to a close, the situation in the field has dramatically changed in the past 5 days...
In the north
In the northern sector, the british 1st Infantry Division with the help of the newly formed Special Air Service, managed to break through the lines of the 3rd Panzer Division, after a heated battle for Bergen Op Zoom.
Meanwhile, the city of Geel has been the stage of heavy fighting between allied forward elements and the german 33rd Infantry Division, which managed to break through into this town earlier this week.
The central and southern sectors
After weeks of heavy fighthing, the american 3rd Infantry Divison managed to rout elements of the 4th Panzer Division in the outskirts of Hampteau.
Togheter with the retreat of the 4th Panzer, the southernmost elements of the german defensive formations have been desintegrating, leaving the elite Fallschirmjagers to hold the line against advancing units of the Allied War Machine in the southern sector.
While it seems that the GHC (German High Command) is in it's last legs, aerial reports indicate that a fresh batch of new recruits and armored columns are being shipped towards the front as you read this report!
The time for reckoning is nigh! Will this be the start of a new drive west? Or will the Allied Powers finally enact Götterdämmerung upon the Axis Powers?
